Nearby Towns, Cities & Landmarks
Being only 15 minutes from the A9 motorway makes for a convenient base for exploring Switzerland and parts of Italy. Nearby attractions include the Grand Dixence Dam, Sion, Zermatt glacier, Solothurn, Jungfraujoch, Lake Thunersee, Lake Geneva and the numerous towns/villages around its shoreline including Geneva, Lausanne, Montreux and Vevey
Beach
Whilst Switzerland is of course land-locked, this is amply compensated for by its many beautiful lakes, some of which are within an hours drive. These are a natural playground for water sports and the perfect location for a summer picnic or a refreshing swim. Lake Geneva (aka Lac Leman) and the Swiss Riviera is an hours drive, where you will find sandy beaches in Villeneuve, Bouveret and Montreux or enjoy a boat trip.
Wine tasting
Surrounded on all fronts by high mountain ranges, Valais is particularly sunny all year round and the climate is classed as Mediterranean. This makes it a prosperous fruit growing area that produces some excellent wines. Sion is surrounded by vineyards and is one of the main wine producing areas in Switzerland.
